PADI Dry Suit Diver
Extend your diving season.
With a dry suit you can stay warm even in cold water, stretching the months you can dive and opening up sites you'd otherwise avoid. But it calls for a different technique from a wet suit — and that's where this specialty comes in.
What you'll learn
How a dry suit works and the different types available, how to manage the air inside it together with your BCD for perfect buoyancy, basic maintenance and minor repairs, and emergency procedures in case of malfunction.
Course structure
- Theory: the basics of suit types, thermal layers and dive planning.
- Confined water session: learn to manage air and buoyancy in a dry suit before heading to the sea.
- 2 open water dives to put technique and buoyancy control into practice.
Prerequisites
PADI (Junior) Open Water Diver or equivalent.
What's next
You can rent and use a dry suit anywhere, dive in cold water in comfort and safety, and extend your diving season. This certification also counts towards Master Scuba Diver.
